We look for reasons to visit Hutson Alley and were excited to hear about something special at Coast Bar and Grill. Weekdays from 5 to 7 p.m., seafood lovers can belly up to the bar to enjoy Oyster Happy Hour!
Although the happy hour takes place at the bar, once inside the restaurant, the aroma was overwhelming and we found ourselves in a booth with menus in hand.
“You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Coast Bar and Grill’s Orange and Rosemary bread, fresh from Normandy Farms Artisan Bakery on Johns Island, makes a fabulous first impression.
We found a pearl with Buffalo Fried Oysters, fried to perfection.
The Carolina Crab Cake was served with a seasonal salad. These appetizers could have been entrees.
Top Potatoes and Spinach with Halibut right off the wood fired grill, add Concasse Heirloom Tomatoes and this Monday Night Special spoke straight to my soul.
Dressed in cashews and peanuts, Seared Rare Tuna never tasted so good! The teacher in me gives the Wok Vegetables, Ginger Soy and Sweet Chili Sauce alongside Sticky Rice an A+.
The portions at Coast Bar and Grill are enormous, so you may want to share (or box up the next day’s lunch) to save room for dessert. The Coconut Blondie Sundae, with candied nuts, caramel and chocolate sauce, is enough to satisfy the sweet tooth of the whole family. Or you could choose to live your best life and devour the whole thing – we won’t judge.
Key Lime Pie, a personal favorite, with its cookie crumb crust is a must try!
